Sandra Burlison, 75, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, in Richardson.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Floral Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Merwin Turner officiating.
Burial followed at Crestview Memorial Park.
Sandra was born on June 22, 1938, in Iowa Park, to Horace M. Banks and Katherine Sue Ralston. She graduated from Iowa Park High School. She attended the University of Alaska for two years and then transferred to Midwestern State University, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from MSU. In Aug. of 1963 she married Darwin B. Burlison in Wichita Falls. She later earned a master’s degree in French from the University of North Texas. She worked for the Wichita Falls ISD for 25 years and retired. She then went on to teach at Wichita Christian School, where she was still teaching at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 43 years.
Survivors include two children, Brad Burlison of Trophy Club, and Marinda Harrison of Highland Village; a brother, Paul Mark of Rockwall; and five grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be made to Wichita Christian School.
