Jimmy Van Winkle

Jimmy Van Winkle, 80, died Sunday in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, with Scotte Clark, of Olney, officiating. Interment was at Cottonwood Cemetery at Bryson. Arrangements were under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Jimmy was born May 4, 1934 in Petrolia to the late Loyd and Etoile (Wells) Van Winkle. He served In the United States Army for two years, He moved to Olney in 1978 from Petrolia. He was a farmer and a a truck driver and a member of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ.

He married Ethelda “Sam” Bryson on Aug. 6, 1976 in Waurika, Okla. She preceded him in death on Aug. 25, 2011. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Laurie Lewis.

Survivors include two sons, Randal Loyd Van Winkle of Wichita Falls and Joe Michael Van Winkle of Iowa Park; two daughters, Lindy Bruton of Olney and Sandra McAninch of Wichita Falls; one sister, Gloria McCratic; 10 grandchildren six great-grandchildren.
