Charles Malcom ‘Chuck’ Nordstrom

Charles M. “Chuck” Nordstrom, 81, of Wichita Falls, died Wednesday, July 13 in Plano.

Services were held Monday, July 18, at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Interment was in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park.

Chuck was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Beaumont, to James A. and Mary E. Kilpatrick Nordstrom. He married Vernie Jean Clayton on June 28, 1957, in Dalhart. He retired after 20 years service with the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars flying combat missions on B-26 aircraft. He then worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 20 years before retiring a second time.

Chuck was a Master Mason and a member of Faith Lodge #1158 in Wichita Falls. He served over 50 years as a Baptist Deacon and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Lorean and Ennis Clatyon, an infant son Joseph, and two brothers, James Nordstrom and Burlon Nordstrom.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Vernie Jean; two daughters, Charlcie Tyann Fazio of Plano and Dorinda Dyann Gaige of Archer City; a son, James Ennis Nordstrom of Iowa Park; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Faith CIty Mission and Meals on Wheels.
