Dorcas Geraldine Steger,87, passed away Wednesday, July 14.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Eckstein, Mr. Joe Howard Williamson and Rev. Jerry Laird officiating. Burial was held at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Steger was born on Jan. 2, 1923, in Pawhuska, OK. to Owen and Lavona Hartness. Geraldine worked as the Deputy Clerk for the county clerk’s office in Gray County prior to moving to Iowa Park in 1966, where she worked as the junior high school secretary until her retirement. She and Bill Steger were married in Henderson, KY., and were together for 67 years. They enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Europe, Mexico, and all but two of the lower 48 states.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Jean Smith; and brother, Sonny Hartness.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; a son, Gary of Iowa Park; a daughter Linda Merrick of Iowa Park; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
