Dora M. Downes
Dora Mae Downes, 85, of Vernon died Saturday, July 19, in Vernon.

Services were held Tuesday at Sullivan Funeral Home with Toby Castleberry and John Fowler officiating. Burial was held in Wilbarger Memorial Park.

Mrs. Downes was a homemaker.

Survivors include five daughters, Lurlene Lane of Spring Town, Dorothy Williams of Kamay, Lois Jablonski and Brenda Eason, both of Vernon and Tina Baker of Wichita Falls; three sons, Marvin of Vernon, Herbert of Iowa Park, and Gerald of Kamay; a sister, Doris Herrington of Farwell; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Parkin Foundation, Vernon College Lockett Scholarship, or M.S. Foundation.
