Amos M. “Andy” Stowe
1923 - 2013

Andy, M. “Andy” Stowe, 89, formerly of Iowa Park, passed away Wednesday, July 17, in his home in Fort Worth.

Mr. Stowe was born Sept. 5, 1923, to Willie Amos and Esther (Edgmon) Stowe in Palo Pinto County and moved to Iowa Park area as a young boy. After finishing school in Iowa Park, he joined the Navy during WWII, and later served on special amphibious forces near Hawaii. He was an avid photographer and was able to capture many pictures of the destruction after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He later entered ministry and served as a Baptist pastor to a number of churches including Wichita Falls and Fort Worth, before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Viola Faye Stowe, Myrtle Ruth Young, Willie Lee (Billie) Herrell, and Ida Mae Lehman; and two wives, Bett (Marshall) and Sherry (Fuggett) Stowe.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Stowe of Fort Worth; two daughters, Debbie Meadows and Esther Stowe, both of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
