Aubrey B. “Cotton” Cole, Sr., 82, of Iowa Park, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2007, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel, Iowa Park, Texas.

Cotton was born October 3, 1924, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and was a lifelong resident of Iowa Park. He married Nell Mendez on June 13, 1959 in Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He retired from Mack Knight Oil Company as a driller and tool pusher. He was preceded in death by his father, William Thurman Cole, and his mother, Cora Celester Strange Cole.

Survivors include his wife, Nell (Mendez) Cole of Iowa Park; two daughters, Mary Brittain and Jacqueline Ann Cole, both of Iowa Park; a son, Aubrey B. Cole, Jr., of Electra, Texas; a sister, Esther Cole of West Virginia; three grandsons, Stephen Eugene Pierce of Iraq, Joseph Donald Mandela of Fort Worth, Texas, and Cole Gorman of Iowa Park; two granddaughters, April Michelle McCullough of Wichita Falls, Texas and Audery Marie Gorman of Iowa Park, Texas; two great granddaughters, Madeline Mandela and Alexandria Pierce.
