Willie Lee McClure Darter
1913 - 2011

Willie Lee McClure Darter, 98, of Iowa Park, passed away July 26, at her residence.

Services were held Friday at Lakeview Church of God in Iowa Park, with Pastor Ted Gray officiating. Interment followed in the Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Willie Lee was born in Electra, July 7, 1913, the oldest child of Ola Lee Scales McClure and Hugh Edward McClure.

Willie Lee graduated from Electra High School and attended what is now Lee College in Cleveland, TN. She and Edgar C. Darter were married June 14, 1934. At that time, Ed owned the Electra Mattress and Furniture Company.

In 1938, they established Darter Furniture in Electra. She was very active in the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. Darter; one daughter, Lee Ola Able; one son, Benford Lawson; two sisters, Roxie Lawson and Virginia Eakin; one brother, Ira McClure; two granddaughters, Kammi and Janna Lawson; and one great-granddaughter, Shanea Curry.

Survivors include two brothers, Henry McClure of Electra and A.J. McClure of Kaufman; two granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Church of God World Missions, P.O. Box 8016, Cleveland, Tennessee 37320-8016.
