James C. Robb, 90, of Electra passed away Thursday, July 29.
A celebration of his life was held Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Lee and Nathan Smith of Electra officiating. Interment was held in Electra Memorial Park.
Mr. Robb was born April 8, 1920, to the late John Henry Robb and Mattie Jane Fine Robb, in Olden. He moved to Electra at the age of two and graduated Electra High School in 1938. He and Mozelle Bryant were married Sept. 24, 1939, in Frederick, OK. He served in the United States Army during World War II, from Dec. 1942 to Sept. 1945. During that time he served in Normandy, Central Europe, Northern France and Rhineland.
He went to work for Continental Oil Company in April 1942 until his retirement in May 1985. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, friends and family, and playing golf. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Electra where he served on many committees, until his health prevented him from doing so, and he was an active member of the Co-Workers Adult Sunday School Class.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years; four brothers, Jack, Clyde, Bill, ad Roy Rob; and two sisters, Lela May Stroud and Edna Lauderdale.
Survivors include two daughters, Jimmie Lee Isbell of Iowa Park and Dona Looney of Frisco; a son, Tom of Andrews; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
