Jerry Lynn Hamilton

Jerry Lynn Hamilton passed away in his home on Sunday August 7, 2011 after a long journey with Mesothelioma. Jerry lived 62 happy and productive years and was a good family man. Jerry was joking and planning for the future up until the last few weeks of his life, when his body finally gave out. Jerry and Pam valued every moment and every day and did their best to live them to the fullest with their 6 year old daughter Madison. Jerry was born November 9th 1948 in Lamesa Texas to Nancy McKinney Hamilton and Joseph Rolland Hamilton.

Jerry retired from the City of Henrietta Texas as the Street Superintendent in September of 2010 due to the illness. Jerry had previously worked at Lowes as Department manager in several different departments and enjoyed doing home improvements so much that the DIY channel was his favorite channel on TV.

Jerry had been very active in the optimist club and was the optimist club president for several years. Jerry loved to golf and was an avid fisherman and had been a member of the Wilbarger bass club. Jerry was a member of the Wichita Falls Christian Anglers society until his illness took hold of his body and he was unable to participate.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy McKinney Hamilton and Joseph Rolland Hamilton.

Survivors include his wife Pamela Hamilton and daughter Madison Hamilton age 6 of Wichita Falls; two sons, Bennie Hamilton and wife Trudy Hamilton of Iowa Park and grandchildren, Coty Lynn Hamilton, Kyle Gage Hamilton, Rebekah Ann Solenberg and Bennie Lynn Hamilton; son Jerry Hamilton Jr. and wife Sissy Hamilton of Clarksville Tennessee and grandchildren Dean Hamilton, Makenzie Hamilton, Kirsten Hamilton and Kennedy Hamilton; and brother Joe Hamilton and wife Margaret June Hamilton of Arlington Texas.

Arrangements have been made with Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home and a time for offering condolences was set aside for Tuesday evening August 9th, 2011 from 6pm – 8pm at the funeral home. A memorial service was held Wednesday August 10th at 10:00 am at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel.
