Oleta Gulley Carpenter

Oleta Gulley Carpenter, 96, of Bowie, formerly of Wichita Falls, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 9, in Bowie.

Funeral services were held Saturday, at the White Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie with Mr. Michael Rhoades officiating. Burial was held in the Riverside Cemetery in Byers.

Oleta was born to the late Otis and Berta (Adams) Gulley on Sept. 6, 1915 in Byers. She married Vincent Carpenter. She retired from White’s in Wichita Falls where she worked in the microfilm department. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.

Survivors include three siblings, Beverly Swiss, Buddy Gulley, and Johnny Gulley; three daughters, Nancy Begley of Bowie, Barbara Carpenter of Dallas, and Marilyn Ward of Iowa Park; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
