Dora Halstead

Dora Halstead, 79, of Iowa Park passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Graveside Services were held Monday at Crestview Memorial Park with her son, Harry A. Halstead, III officiating. Services were under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

Mrs. Halstead was born to Toge and Thelma Yates in Oklahoma and had been a resident of Wichita Falls and later Iowa Park since 1966. She was a Baptist by faith.

Her husband, Harry A. Halstead, Jr. preceded her in death in 2009.

Survivors include her daughter, Lawanda ‘Lou’ Mello of Middleboro, Ma.; two sons, Jimmie Halstead of Pasadena, and Harry A. Halstead, III of Iowa Park; two sisters, Geneva Jackson of California and Joyce Coffee of Texas; two brothers, Kenneth Yates of New Mexico and Eugene ‘Gene’ Yates of Texas; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family suggest in lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to a favorite charity in memory of Dora.
