Mr. Morrison was born May 8, 1921 in Iowa Park to James Phillip and Minnie (Lee) Morrison. He attended school in Iowa Park. On December 14, 1941, J.D. married Ethel Mae Skinner in Walters, OK. He worked for Iowa Park Independent School District as a bus driver and janitor, and worked for Wichita County Precinct 3 in 1953 as a road grader operator, retiring in 1986. Summer vacations and many fishing trips were the love of his life and he enjoyed sharing these experiences with everyone. He also collected old pictures of Iowa Park which now hang in the halls of Iowa Park Health Care Center. He was a member of Friendly Door and of Iowa Park Church of God where he was a bus driver, song leader, and superintendent.

Survivors include his children, Douglas Morrison of Iowa Park; Dianne Vance of Burlington, CO; an adopted daughter, Helen Duncan of Henrietta; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, TX 76308; Iowa Park Health Care Center, 1109 North 3rd St., Iowa Park, TX 76367; or to Friendly Door Senior Citizens at 810 North 3rd St., Iowa Park, TX 76367.
