Jesse Wayne Fannon, 62, of Walters, Ok., passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, in Lawton.
Graveside services were held Tuesday in the Walters Cemetery with Rev. Roger Noland officiating.
He was born to Jesse James and Lois Marie (McMurtry) Fannon on Sept. 23, 1949 at Clovis, NM. He grew up at Walters where he has made his home all but for a time in Eastern Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army with three tours to Vietnam, receiving numerous medals and commendations. Through the years he has worked with seismograph and surveying in the oilfield, and also built barns and did roofing. He enjoyed fishing, hunting arrowheads, gun target practice, scuba diving and tinkering.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandchild, Kassie Marie Khanlar Griffin.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Griffin of Iowa Park, and Brittnie Fannon of Lawton, OK; a son, James Houston Fannon of Charles City, Iowa; his companion, Debra Pittman of Walters, OK; two brothers, Mack Fannon and James Fannon, both of Walters; five sisters, Alice Jean Fielding of Comanche, OK, Louise Marie Lambert of Walters, Darla Mae Dryden of Chandler, OK, and Charlotte Fay Romero and Linda Kay Gatlin, both of Walters; two stepchildren, Michael and Mary Pittman both of Walters; and six grandchildren.
