Neta Opal Shawver, 94, a 66-year resident of Iowa Park, passed away Monday, Aug. 30, in Iowa Park.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Park, with Harvey McQueen, Megargel Church of Christ minister, and Bill Lockwood, Iowa Park Church of Christ minister, officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Shawver was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Archer County, to Charlie and Donna (Carr) Spain. She married Willie Lawrence Brown, who preceded her in death in 1970. In 1978 she married Marshall Shawver and he preceded her in death in 1996. She worked for the Famous Department Store in Iowa Park and later worked as a dispatcher for the Iowa Park Police Department. She and Mr. Shawver lived in Megargel until his death, when she moved back to Iowa Park. She was a 66 year resident of Iowa Park and was a member of the Iowa Park Church of Christ and a homemaker.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Carlton Brown; a daughter, Carol Ann Brown; and siblings, Orville Spain, Linden Spain, Viola Parrish, Odessa Shawver and Savinna Keene.
Survivors include a son, Willie Leon Brown of Iowa Park; a daughter, Delores Morgan of Lewisville; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
