Evan Elmer Farley
1928 - 2014

Evan Elmer Farley, 86, passed away August, 26, at his home in Iowa Park.

 A private family service was held Friday. 

Evan was born Jan. 25, 1928 to James Evan and Bessie (Jackson) Farley in Ohio.

In 1986 he and his wife built their home southwest of Iowa Park The home burned on May 22, 2007. At age 80 he built another home for he and his wife. He collected, restored, and showed antique vehicles and won many awards over the years. The last car show he showed his Model T in was Summer’s Last Blast in Vernon a few weeks ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Evan Elmer Farley, Jr.; two sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include his wife Esther (Sutherland) of 42 years; children Brent L. Farley, Chris A. Farley, Andrew M. Farley, Deirdre J. Buchmann, Erica Peterson, and Marc, Vicki and Brad Johnson; a brother Dwight Farley; 26 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

 In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to help with Evan’s medical expenses.
