Barbara Collins Johnson Sells, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, in Wichita Falls.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday in the Elbert Cemetery, Elbert under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on Dec. 18, 1937 in Haskell County, to O.P. Collins and Nellie (Ling) Collins. She started school in Paint Creek and graduated from Haskell High School in 1956. She married Tommy Ray Johnson in Sept. 1956. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1978. She worked for the Texas Highway Department starting in 1967 and retired after 28 years of service in 1995. She married Charles M. Sells in Oct. 1980. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was a member of the Board of Directors at the Iowa Park Friendly Door Senior Citizens Center and volunteered at Hospice of Wichita Falls. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; sisters, Juanell Ray and Lois Miller; brother, Buddy Collins; and grandson, Dusty Dean.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Craig Johnson of Iowa Park; two daughters, Cene’ Johnson Dean of Iowa Park and Kara Johnson Kelley of Salado; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls and to the Iowa Park Friendly Door Senior Citizens Center.
