Mary Jane Burdge

Mary Jane Shaeffer Burdge, 87, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Iowa Park, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, from a lengthy illness.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Highland Cemetery Pavilion with Dr. Jon Eckstein officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

She loved to work in the dirt, she had a green thumb and flowers seemed to bloom for her, even in the Texas heat and she was active in church.

She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Wilson, Kenny Wilson and Noah Heckert.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Harry Burdge, her children, Sandra Johnson of Prospect, OH.; Roger Burdge of Crestline, OH.; Linda Spiegel and Angie Heckert, both of Bucyrus, OH.; and Pam Belcher and Wendy Giles, both of Wichita Falls, a brother Sam Shaeffer of Pennsylvania; numerous grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls and First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park.
