Elaine Schroeder Thomas, 56, of Wichita Falls, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, in a Wichita Falls hospital.

A vigil service was held Friday at Aulds Funeral Home in Archer City. A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Windthorst with Rev. David Kraeher officiating. Interment was held in Crestview memorial Park in Wichita Falls.
Mrs. Thomas was born Oct. 7, 1950, in Jacksboro, to Alois William Schroeder and Frances Wolf Schroeder. She was a 1969 graduate of Windthorst High School. She had worked for Haggar Slacks in Olney and was later employed by P&S Stone in Jacksboro. She and Larry Thomas were married Feb. 14, 1997, in Haltom City. He preceded her in death June 16, 1999. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and spending time with family. She was a member of Gold’s Gym and the YMCA.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Darrell Schroeder, on Nov. 7, 2003.

Survivors include two daughters, Dana Zihlman of Iowa park, and Kindra Zihlman of Wichita Falls; four sisters, Carolyn Wiede and Shirley Buie, both of San Marcos, Darlene Pennartz of Windthorst, and Rena Mathews of Wichita Falls; a brother, Roy Schroeder of Wichita Falls; and three grandchildren.
