Holmes Willis Swadley, Jr.
1927 - 2015

Holmes Willis Swadley, Jr., 87, of Wichita Falls, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17.
Funeral services were held Monday, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Stubblefield, officiating.

Interment with military honors followed at Dundee Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Holmes Willis and Willie Louise (Harvell) Swadley, Holmes was born on Oct. 30, 1927, in San Antonio. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy, and later worked in the construction business for numerous years. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Diane Swadley; and three brothers, Roy Baum Swadley, Howard Swadley, and James Edward Swadley.

Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Jean Swadley Chard, and Tisha Diahann Swadley McCreary, both of Wichita Falls, and Barbie Denice Swadley Mathews of Iowa Park; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his former wife and lifelong friend, Ruby Swadley of Wichita Falls.
