Charles Alfred “Shep” Schoeppey

Charles Alfred “Shep” Schoeppey, 84, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery Park.
Mr. Schoeppey was born on Nov. 15, 1927, to Frank Benjamin and Lillie (Long) Schoeppey in Fort Smith, AR. He served in the United States Air Force and then joined the United States Air Force Civil Service at Sheppard Air Force Base. He taught aircraft systems and maintenance and officer candidate training. He received numerous awards and retired as a Master Instructor after 32 years of service. He had a second career in the oilfield supply business with D.B. Sales until May, 2011. He was an active and long-time member of Bible Baptist Church, teaching his Sunday School class there for 57 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dean Schoeppey, of 53 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Schoeppey Lake of Iowa Park, Texas; son, Stan Schoeppey of Cypress; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Bible Baptist Church, 908 Austin Street, Wichita Falls, TX 76301; or Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls, TX 76310.
