David Eugene Routh
1929 - 2013

David Eugene Routh, 84, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, in Iowa Park.

Funeral services were held Monday, at Grace Tabernacle Church with Rev. Kendall Graves officiating.

Graveside services were held at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

David was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Meridian, to Edward C. and Merdle (Allen) Routh.

He married Doris Marie Potter on April 13, 1952, in Cayote. He was an oilfield worker, working as a pumper for 27 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sheila Fisher; one granddaughter, Amanda Almendarez; two brothers, Elmo and Curtis Routh; and two sisters, Wilma Townley and Louise Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Routh of Iowa Park; two sons, Eugene Routh of Iowa Park, and Eddie Routh of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Cynthia Travis of Hurst; two brothers, Leroy Routh and John Routh; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or to Grace Tabernacle Church in Iowa Park.
