Gene Weldon Rice
1928 - 2010

Gene Weldon Rice, 81, passed away on Friday, Oct. 1, in Iowa Park.

Funeral services were held at Tuesday at Iowa Park Church of Christ with Mr. Bill Lockwood officiating.

Services were under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park.

Mr. Rice was born Dec. 17, 1928, in Talihina, OK., to Gene Stanley and Edith (Osborne) Rice. He graduated Benton High School in Benton, LA., and was a member of Iowa Park Church of Christ. At one time, he was employed with M&M Manufacturing Company. He enjoyed gardening and volunteer work.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Rowena (Bacon) Rice of Iowa Park; two sons, Gene Weldon Rice, Jr. of Tyler and Bradley Rice of Oil City, LA; one daughter, Denise of North Carolina; also his children, Valton, Fay, and Glenn; a brother, Burton Rice of Angie, LA; seven grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
