Rev. Burl Hamilton Millstid
1928 - 2013

Rev. Burl Hamilton Millstid, 85, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, at his home in Iowa Park.

Funeral services were held Monday, at Life Tabernacle Church in Wichita Falls. Burial was held Tuesday at Carlisle Community Cemetery in Carlisle, Arrangements were under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Burl was born on June 6, 1928 in Carlisle, to Hamilton McDuffy and Elizabeth (Newman) Millstid. He served as a sailor in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was as a minister in the United Pentecostal Church International for approximately 65 years. He was a member of Life Tabernacle Church in Wichita Falls for the past several years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Atmer, HM, and Murl Millstid; four sisters, Agnes Miller, Cricket Tipton, Lola Larkin, and Vera Lowry; and two of his sons, Jerry Lynn and Douglas LaJaun Millstid.

Survivors include his wife of almost 65 years, GayDean (Macon) Millstid of Iowa Park; two sons, Burl Millstid of Hurst and Donnie Millstid of Trinity; two daughters, Gayla Hardin of Comanche and Judy Davis of Wichita Falls; a brother, Gaston Millstid of Sweeney; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

The family suggest memorials be made to the B.H. Millstid Memorial Fund, New Life Pentecostals, P.O. Box 130, Comanche, Texas 76442.
