Leo Duane North, 70, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, in Wichita Falls
.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Patti Bateman of Evangel Temple, Wichita Falls, officiated. She was assisted by Mr. North’s brother-in-law, Rev. Paul Ward, of Fort Worth. Full military honors were provided by Sheppard Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Duane was born June 14, 1941 in American Fork, UT., to parents Willie Berry and Nellie Merl (Powell) North, who preceded him in death. He married Joyce Ward on March 29, 1968, in Iowa Park. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring Nov. 1, 1982 as a communications technician at Sheppard Air Force Base.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Iowa Park; three daughters, Brenda Joyce Wells of Willis, Vicky Lynn Turbeville of Donalsonville, GA, and Cheri Ferguson of Spring; brother, Davie North of Burnet; and four grandchildren.
