Wenona “Darlene Smith, 71, of Iowa Park died Saturday, Oct. 22, in a Wichita Falls hospital.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Crestview Memorial Park with Father John Payne officiating.

Darlene was born Aug. 25, 1940, in Clovis, N.M., to Delmar “Slick” and Wenona (Kinkade) Davis. She and Raymond L. Smith, Jr. were married Sept. 30 1959, in Clovis, N.M. She was involved in the Rainbows and Rider FFA, when her children were growing up. She was a homemaker and attended All Saints Episcopal Church and Good Sheppard Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Ashlie Wright; and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband; children, Raymond L. III of Texas; Jerry of Wichita Falls, Darla R. of MI., Wendy Vann of Paradise, and Darrell Lynn of Iowa Park; eight sisters, Dixie, Wanda Jo, Trudy, Betty, Vicky, Nancy, Georgia, and Joyce; two brothers, John Edward, and Ricky Don; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
