William Dan Owens
1919 - 2008

William Dan Owens Jr. 88, died at his home in Burkburnett Tuesday, Oct. 28.

Funeral services under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett were held Saturday with Jim Adams and Dennis Mitchell officiating.

Burial with full military and Masonic honors followed at Electra Memorial Park in Electra.

Mr. Owens a retired Major in the Air Force was born Dec. 11, 1919 to William Dan Owens and Nannie A. Wheat in Purdon. He married Billie Austin in Denton July 15, 1942. They are former residents of Iowa Park where his wife was a teacher and their children graduated high school.

He was preceded in death by a sister Fay Cruse.

Survivors include his wife; two sons Dan Owens of Defuniak Springs, Fl. and Robert Owens of Yardley, PA.; a daughter, Diana Owens May of Tuscaloosa, AL.; a sister, Dorothy Gibson of Johnson City, TN.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
