Fred Knox Campbell, III
1948 - 2016

Fred Knox Campbell, III, 67, who passed away in Waco Thursday, Oct. 13.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 16, at North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford.

Campbell was born Dec. 22, 1948, in Knox City, to Fred Knox Campbell, Jr. and Veda Lois Gatewood. He attended school in Iowa Park, where he graduated in 1967. He had lived in several states and had a career in real estate. When not working, he enjoyed fishing. He was an avid angler, and took multiple trips to Alaska, the Pacific and Caribbean, Canada, and the Texas coast. Also, he liked reading and listening to music, especially electric blues. He retired to Lake Whitney where he reconnected with his first love from decades before, Jan Cooper, via social media. They married on July 4, 2011. He was an organ donor.

He was preceded in death by father Fred Knox Campbell, Jr.; mother Veda Lois Campbell; and brother Michael Ellis Campbell.

Survivors include his wife Jan Cooper Campbell of Lake Whitney; children, Courtney Campbell and Kyle Campbell, both of Colorado; a sister Gay Campbell Williams of Iowa Park; and a brother Mark K. Campbell of Weatherford.
