Vernon L. Hamm
1926 - 2010

Vernon L. Hamm, 83, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, in Graham.

Funeral services were held at the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Burial followed in the Jean Cemetery.

Mr. Hamm was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Jean, to the late Mont Exton and Clara (Slater) Hamm. He and Marilyn Helmle were married, and she preceded him in death in 1975. He and LaVay Buffington were married Feb. 5, 1976, in Artesia, N.M. She preceded him in death Sept. 4, 2008. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force. He retired from the Air Force as a Federal Aviation Association Air Traffic Controller.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Norman.

Survivors include a daughter, Gaye Layland of Graham; a son, Steve Bernhardt of Iowa Park; and three grandchildren.
