Leta Mae Singleton Whedon
1929 - 2014

Leta Mae Singleton Whedon, 84, of Iowa Park, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Highland Cemetery with Pastor Josh Yeager, officiating.

Leta was born on Nov. 23, 1929, in Wichita Falls, to the late John and Tressie (Patterson) Lowry. She worked as a bookkeeper for Franklin Dress Shop in Wichita Falls, and later from 1965 until 1978, she worked as a bookkeeper at Champaign Airport in Champaign, IL., where she also received her private pilot’s license. She enjoyed bowling and participated in many Wichita Falls Bowling Leagues as well as traveling throughout the country bowling. In 1980, she married Oscar Singleton. He preceded her in death in 1992. In 1997, she married George “Rusty” Whedon in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death in 2013.

She is survived by her dear friend, Charlene Barbour of Iowa Park.
