Lorene Mills
1925 - 2011

Lorene Mills, 86, of Iowa Park passed away Monday, Nov. 28.

Funeral services will be he;d at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Gil Peters officiating.

Interment will follow Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.

Lorene was born May 29, 1925, in Sulphur Springs, to Frank and Mattie Grizzle. She grew up in area towns in east Texas, before marrying her husband of 50 years, Wayland. After leaving the farm, the family moved to Wichita Falls and in 1968, made their home in Iowa Park. She worked for many years as a seamstress and enjoyed her home and garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Viola Mills; and her great-grandchildren, Stephanie and LaTisha.

Survivors include her two sons, Charles, and Bob; two daughters, Brenda Hunter, and Jo Ann Taylor; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
