Austin Webb
1926 - 2016

Austin Webb, 90, of Jacksboro, passed away on Tuesday Nov. 29, in Wichita Falls.

There will be a visitation at 6 p.m. this evening at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Church of Christ in Jacksboro with burial following in Blue Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Webb was born on Jan. 22, 1926, in Bluegrove, to John Austin and Cuma (Seabolt) Webb. He was a retired school administrator and taught in many schools including Iowa Park, Marfa, Windthorst, West Virginia, Bowie, and Jacksboro. He was a member of the Church of Christ and served in the United States Air Force.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Virginia Hilty Webb; son, James Edward Thomas Webb; daughter, Virginia Diann Webb; granddaughter, Dedra Webb, and siblings, Arthur, Tom Whitey, Edward, Doana, and Buck.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen (Slack) Webb; children, Austin G. Webb of Euless, Steve A. Webb of Kansas, Josie Jarrett of Archer City, John Austin Webb of Jacksboro; siblings Dan Webb, Mae Broaddus of Kentucky, Jo Meixner of Michigan, Aylene Williams, Jennie Waggoner, and Jack Webb all of Henrietta, Georgia James of Arkansas, Phillip Webb, and Harry Webb; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
