Max Orvle Solomon
1925 - 2014

Max Orvle Solomon, Sr., 89, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church.

Graveside services followed at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Max was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Devol, OK., to John H. and Clara (Culwell) Solomon. He and Marsha (Horton) Solomon were married May 21, 1959 in Wichita Falls. Max served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0120 for 61 years. He was an employee of the former State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for 25 years. After his retirement from the state, he worked at Dutton Funeral Home for 10 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school class officer.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marsha, in 2013; his parents; four brothers, Lewis, Roy, John and Glen.

Survivors include his children, Max Solomon Jr of Wichita Falls, Mark Solomon and Melinda Solomon, both of Iowa Park, and Michelle Solomon of Fort Worth; one grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church building fund or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
