A.B. "Abe" Latimer
1908 - 2007
A. B. “Abe” Latimer, age 99, went to be with his Lord and family on December 2, 2007. He died at his home in Iowa Park, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Mr. Gil Peters officiating. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Abe was born March 11, 1908 to Lonnie Monroe & Edna Pearl (Whitehead) Latimer in Wolf City, Hunt County, Texas. He married his “Eve”, Vilie Steele on October 27, 1931 in Lone Oak, Texas. He worked for Hammon Properties from 1934 to 1986 as a Field Superintendent. He was a Mason and member of Electra Lodge #1067. He petitioned Electra Lodge in June 24, 1942 and was Worshipful Master 1945-46 and again in 1995-96. He received his 60 year award on August 14, 2002 and his 65 year award in 2007. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Iowa Park.

Abe was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Ray, Jake, Gary Don, J.D.; sister, Pauline; and two sons, Larry Latimer and Ronald Latimer.

He is survived by daughters-in-law, Janis Latimer of Iowa Park and Gwen Latimer of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Aletha Young and husband Dennis, Dewayne Latimer and wife Donna, Julie Ross and husband Kirk, Richard Latimer and wife Valerie, Keith Latimer and wife Angie, Karen Stubbs and husband Stubby, Janet Hill and husband Frankie, Linda Rogers and husband Kelly; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the funeral home.
