Nina Wilburn passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Nina was born June 11, 1930 in Archer County, Texas to W.R. “John” and Olive (Levell) Potter. She went to Valley View School and graduated in 1948. She lived at Kamay, Texas until 1948. Nina married Herbert Wilburn, from Houston, Texas, on May 21, 1948, the same night she graduated. She went to Beauty School and worked at the Courthouse in Wichita Falls. She and her husband owned and operated the Hamilton Coffee Shop in the Hamilton Building in downtown Wichita Falls for 14 years.
She worked for Fats McBride from 1982 through 2009, when she broke her wrist and couldn’t work as a waitress any longer. She and her husband moved to Longview, Texas when he became ill, to live with their son so he could help with his dad.
Her parents and 3 brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Herbert Wilburn, Jr. and Deidre; granddaughter, Cassandra Fair and husband Daniel; grandson, Matt Wilburn and wife, Stephanie; great grandchildren, Michael Gross and Zack Fair, Shelby Fair, Desteny Fair and Taylor, Riley, Rollen, and Ian; 1 sister, Bessie Scott and husband, Ted; 2 brothers, David Potter and wife, Jimmy, and Donald Potter and wife, Peggy; one sister-in-law, Theresa Potter; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Dutton Funeral Home from 6 PM until 8 PM, Wednesday, December 10, 2014.
Graveside services will be at 2 PM Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the Pavilion at Highland Cemetery with John Brock, Jr. officiating. Services are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.
