James W. Meeks
 1946 - 2012

James W. Meeks, 66, of Wichita Falls, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. David Bishop of Southwest Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed at Crestview Memorial Park.

James was born to the late Curtis and Virginia Meeks on Jan. 25, 1946 in Cedartown, GA. He graduated from Cedartown High School in 1964. He married Carla Vantrease Meeks on Dec. 12, 2010. James joined the U.S. Air Force in 1964 and after 28 years of service, he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1992. He was an active member in Southwest Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry W. Meeks; and his sister, Janice L. Meeks.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Thomas Curtis Meeks of Archer City, and Molly Louise Meeks of Iowa Park; step-daughter, Jacquelyn Nicole Vantrease; step-son, Corey Atkins Vantrease, both of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Carolyn J. Reagan, Linda D. Atkins, and M. Annette Berger; two brothers, Bob V. Meeks, and C. Curry Meeks, Jr. all of Georgia; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
