James “Jim” Lynch

James “Jim” Lynch, 84, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, in Decatur.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Montague County Cowboy Church with Joe Caballero officiating.
Burial was held at Alvord Cemetery.
Mr. Lynch was born May 7, 1926, to Cecil and Margetta (Story) Lynch in Gainesville. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the Elite Unit as a Carlson Raider during World War II. He worked in construction operating heavy equipment in the Wichita Falls area for most of his life. After his retirement he settled in Alvord. He enjoyed tinkering and was an avid treasure hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two brothers, Ray and Arthur Lynch.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Lynch of Alvord; his children, Jamie Prunty of Iowa Park, Delores Bragg and Wichita Lynch, both of Wichita Falls, Beverly Stephens of Megargel, Tim Lynch and Will Lynch, both of Alvord; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
