Claburne Edward Portwood Lindley
1934 - 2016

Claburne Edward Portwood Lindley, 82, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, at the Texoma Christian Care Center in Wichita Falls, after suffering from a stroke on Dec. 1.

Services were held Tuesday at Dutton Funeral Home.

Family held a private burial earlier that day, in respect of his wishes.

Clay was born Nov. 23, 1934 in Iowa Park, to Jeff and Agnes Lindley. He graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1952, where he participated in sports and in the Ag program. After High School he continued ROTC training, which led to being drafted in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Staff Sargent until 1966.

He spent over 40 years of his professional career in financial services at both TransAmerica and Windthorst National Bank in Holliday before retiring. Throughout every stage in life, he found time to spend on his farm where he enjoyed raising livestock and keeping his garden.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pat Lindley; two sons, Robert Lindley and Claburne Lindley; a sister, Jody Allen; and four grandchildren.
