1946 - 2010

Barbara Gayle Brooks, 63, of Iowa Park passed away Monday, Dec. 27, in Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Quanah First Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Jones, minister, officiating. Burial will be held in Quanah Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brooks was born Dec. 28, 1946, in Quanah, the daughter of the late Guy Junior Daugherty and Frances Loraine (Logan) Daugherty. She was a 1965 graduate of Quanah High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. She and Wincel Brooks were married Aug. 5, 1972, in Dallas. She had been a resident of Iowa Park since 2001, moving from Aurora, CO. She was a retired communication clerk for Lucent Technologies
.
She was preceded in death by her father on Sept. 5, 1981.

Survivors include her husband of Iowa Park; her mother of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Leanne Welch of Fort Worth; a son, Patrick of Iowa Park; a sister, Jerry Francis of Granite Shoals; and three grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
