14 Hawks make 6-3A All-District football list
Despite failing to make the state playoffs for the second straight year, the Iowa Park Hawk football team managed to land 14 players on the 6-3A All-District roster.

Vernon and Graham, district champs and runners-up respectively, took the top honors in 6-3A, led by Lion quarterback Darian Williams, who was voted as the district’s Most Valuable Player.

Graham’s talented linebacker Trevor Sparks was awarded the Devensive MVP award for the second straight year. Teammate Jake Holub was named Offensive MVP.

All three are seniors.

Burkburnett sophomore Lorenzo Barnes was named Newcomer of the Year, while Keith Hall of Vernon won Coach of the Year honors for his team’s deep playoff run in the Class 3A playoffs.

Iowa Park High School senior Dusty Ross led his team with a First Team selection at both offensive and defensive end.

Other First Team selections for the Mean Green included fellow seniors Randell Wathan at offensive line, Blake Criswell at defensive cornerback, and kicker Nathan Gilbert.

Sophomore IPHS runningback Richard Smoak was named to the Second Team offensive list, as was senior offensive lineman Nick Fulfer.

Five Hawks earned second team honors on defense, including seniors Stefan Macias at defensive line, J.C. Pleva at inside linebacker, Jon Brown at outside linebacker, safety Troy Williams, and cornerback Brady Whitaker.

Senior Hagen Duncan was named Honorable Mention offensive lineman, Clayton Price outside linebacker, and Jared Lytle running back. All three are IPHS seniors.
