     Billy Dean James, Sr., age 90, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Iowa Park, TX. The third of 6 children, Billy was born September 11, 1930, in Iowa Park, TX to D.O. and Gladys Horn James.

     Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 1 PM at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

     Billy attended school in Valley View and Iowa Park, graduating in 1947 and afterwards attended Midwestern State University for two years.

     He married Jeanne Brogden Parks in 1951, and they had three children, seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

     Starting out as an auto mechanic for Elmer Singleton, he built his own business “Billy James Garage” in Iowa Park in 1958. This became the oldest continuously owned business in town.

     He was instrumental in forming the Iowa Park Hunting Club, Big 6 Gun Club, and Iowa Park Muleskinners. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips and cooking for friends and family.

     He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Jeanne, brother Don James of Wichita Falls, TX, sister Juanelle King of Lubbock, TX, and grandchild Jason Winkler of Kamay, TX. He is survived by sister June McManus of San Antonio, brother Douglas James of Wichita Falls, TX brother Deryl James of Nocona, TX, daughter Karen Watson and her husband Danny of Haslett, TX, son Billy James, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Bedford, TX, and daughter Jo Sampley of Kamay, 6 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, or to a charity of your choice.
