IOWA PARK, TEXAS - Clarence Weldon Hunter of Iowa Park Tx. age 75 went home to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday morning, June 2, 2020 in his home with his wife by his side.

Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, Texas. The family will receive visitors on June 7, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020. Officiating Reverend Richard Hartwell in the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas.

Weldon was born May 1, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Vernon Terrell and Mary Jewell Barfield Hunter of Thornberry, Texas. Weldon was the youngest of six children, one brother and four sisters.

Weldon attended several elementary schools in Wichita County. Regan Jr. High and attended Wichita Falls High School and graduated with the first senior class of Hirschi High School in 1963, and attended Eastfield College of Mesquite, Texas in 1984.

Weldon was baptised at the age of 12 in the Church of Christ in Wichita FAlls, and was a member there until he moved to Dallas, Texas.

Weldon mowed lawns and threw the Wichita Falls Times newspaper at the age of 12. He also worked as a bus-boy for Lester’s Steak House, Wichita General Hospital and Sheppard Air Force Base Officers Club all in Wichita Falls, Texas. Weldon was also a member of the Central Boys Club, where he loved going swimming and making things for his mother in the wood shop. Weldon enjoyed taking his boat to the lake where he often fished, swam, and water skied. He enjoyed working on his vehicles and restoring his 1950 Chevrolet.

Weldon was preceeded in death by his oldest sister Virginia Ann Hunter (1935), his father Vernon Terrell Hunter (1987), his mother Mary Jewel Barfield Hunter (2006), his mother-in-law Lorene Mills (2011) and his brother-in-law Charles Mills (2013).

Weldon was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Weldon is survived by his wife Brenda Mills Hunter of Iowa Park Texas; two children Sharon Kay Hunter and husband Paul Oiler of Lone Oak, Texas, and Weldon Scott Hunter and wife Cheryl of Kaufman, Texas; two grandsons, Colton Scott Hunter and girlfriend Miranda of Balch Springs, Texas and Stevie Ray Flores and wife Kasey of Longview, Texas. Granddaughter Daniele Flores Crow and husband Corey of Van, Texas. Great-grandchildren Laydan and Brynlee Flores of Longview, Texas and Ross and Danny Crow of Van, Texas. Brother Donald Wayne Hunter and wife Kim, sisters Maudine Hunter Stermer and Jewel Dean Hunter Tanner and friend John, all of Wichita Falls, and Verna Hunter Gee and husband Donald of Temple, Texas, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Step-son Brandon Mills and girlfriend Vonda, step-grandchildren Kenzy Mills of Iowa Park, Bryce Mills and fiancee Maliha of Wichita Falls, and KaBryn Mills Bray and husband Ryan and children Kadeyn and Lexa Bray of Lubbock, Texas. Brother-in-law Bob Mills and wife Clara and family and sister-in-law Jo Ann Mills Taylor and husband Don and family, all of Iowa Park, Texas.

Weldon would like everyone to know he had a full and enjoyable life and would like his family and friends to CELEBRATE his life and not to mourn his passing. Weldon will be loved and missed by all.
