Delbert Catlin

      Delbert Catlin, age 90, of Iowa Park, passed from this life on Saturday, May 28, 2022 surrounded by his family.  He was born Delbert DeRoy Catlin on April 9, 1932 in Iowa Park, Texas to Cecil and Vida (Robinson) Catlin.  He graduated from W.F. George High School in 1949.  Delbert worked for Kelly Ice Company during high school and married Noralene Moer on April 9, 1953.  He was in the oil business for 60 years and was owner/operator of Catlin Well Service, Catlin Drilling Company and Catilin Oilfield Supply.  He was on the Iowa Park School Board for nine years and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Iowa Park, which he helped to build.  Delbert was a family man and recently celebrated 69 years of marriage with the love of his life, Noralene, on his 90th birthday.  In 1979, they relocated to Valley View and built their home on the farm where he enjoyed planting his wheat and cotton crops, raising his quarter horses and managing his cattle.

     Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Vida Catlin and his brother, Carl Catlin.  He is survived by his wife, Noralene; five children, Steve Catlin and wife, Reba of Iowa Park; Debbie Catlin Frazier and husband, Greg of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; Susan Catlin Tigrett and husband, Paul of Wichita Falls; Brian Catlin and wife, Lisa of Weatherford, Texas; and brent Catlin and wife, Tracy of Iowa Park.  In addition, Delbert was so proud of his 12 grandchildren, Stephen Lee Catlin and wife, Angela; Christie McIlroy and husband, James; Stan Tigrett and wife, Kim; Randi Jones and husband, Brad; DeeLynn Braman and husband, Joe; Joe Fraizer and wife, Camey; Chris Catlin and wife, Lacey; Jeff Catlin; Corrie Gulley and husband, Blake; Courtney Healy and husband, Matt; Jacob Catlin and Jonathan Catlin.  They were also blessed with 20 great grandchildren, Ryan McIlroy, Josh Catlin, Daniel McIlroy, Madeline Braman, Rebecca Catlin, Ellie Jones, Carlisle Braman, Gavin James, Emma Jones, Ben Tigrett, Drew Catlin, Sara Tigrett, June Catlin, Eli Catlin, Baylor Gulley, Cadie Gulley, Ty Gulley, Lily Frazier, Wyatt Healy and Caroline Frazier.  In addition, Delbert has two sisters, Charlene Rusk and Carol Ridlehuber, who both live in Iowa Park; as well as many nieces and nephews.

     A Rosary and Vigil Service will be held at 6 PM, Friday, June 3, 2022 in the chapel of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park with visitation following from 7 – 8 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Christ The King Catholic Church of Iowa Park with Father Joseph Moreno officiating.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Delbert’s grandsons, Stephen Catlin, Stan Tigrett, Joe Frazier, Chris Catlin, Jeff Catlin, Jacob Catlin and Jonathan Catlin.
