     Glendale Cannedy went home to meet his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2021. He left surrounded by loved ones and was anxious to see his mama. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park with Mr. Shane Cannedy, Tenth and Broad Church of Christ, Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside services will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas.

     Glendale was loved and respected by everyone that knew him. He was born on October 13, 1927 in Gould, Oklahoma to Herbert and Zetta Teakel Cannedy. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1946. Upon his honorable discharge, he married Betty Lou Witt on January 5, 1952 in Wichita Falls, and began work with Miller and Miller, which later became ICX Freight Lines. He continued to work there until his retirement in 1980 and worked for ANR Freight Line for 10 years. Glendale and Betty were members of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park. He had a passion for training and racing horses with his brothers. He loved going to the farm and raising his cattle. He loved spending time with his family and loved spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids.

     Glendale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Cannedy and Mac Cannedy; and his sisters, Joyce Dowdy and Sue Ann Schaffer.

     Glendale loved his family dearly and is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty; daughters, Gayle Gafford and her husband, Ronnie and Sandra Britt and her husband, Jim; grandchildren, Justin Gafford and wife, Jamie, Shannon Willis and husband, Darren, Jeremy Grant and wife, Jessica, and Leah Anderson and husband, Jeremy; seven great grandsons, Kaleb Gafford, Brance Garrett, Connor Willis, Cooper Willis, Gage Grant, Case Anderson and Bowen Grant, brother, Harlan Cannedy and sisters, Peggy Perkins, Jolene Pepper and Janis McCain.
