H.C. Johnson

H.C. Johnson passed away on January 17, 2020 at the age of 86 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 6-7:30 PM at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Pastor John Hare, Pacific Avenue Baptist Church, officiating.

Henry Calvin “H.C.” Johnson was born May 1, 1933 in Magic City, Wheeler County, Texas at his family home to Henry and Ruth (Quarles) Johnson. H.C. was the first of five children, he attended school in Wheeler, where he and his siblings were raised on their family’s ranch.

H.C. and Jo Evelyn “Jody” Reid were married April 30, 1950 in Portales, New Mexico, they lived in Wheeler until December 1965 when they moved to iowa Park. H.C. was in the trucking business, grain business and retired from Foster-Wheeler Construction in 2001.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Jody, his parents, brothers, Bobby and Darrell, sons-in-law, Jim Davis and Norman Walker.

Surviving relatives include his children, Steve (Glenda) Johnson of Wichita Falls, Cindy (Mike) Tracey of Iowa Park, Rhonda (Kent) Houston of Madelia, Minnesota, Tommy (Linda) Johnson of Wichita Falls, Terry (Caren) Johnson of Mansfield, Texas, Tessy (John) Cole of Iowa Park, Robert (April) Johnson of Iowa Park; brother, Doug Johnson of Orange Grove, Texas; sister, Lajuana Vanek Scott of New Caney, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
