James Thomas Elms, 53, of Lakeside City passed away on January 23, 2021. 

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 27, at Mercy Church, 3101 McNiel Ave, Wichita Falls. For the funeral and visitation, masks and social distancing will be required. 

A son of the late Pearl Reather Patton and Randle David Elms, James was born on July 27, 1967, at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. James attended the Iowa Park school system and later attended Midwestern State University. He worked for Cryovac in Iowa Park for over 28 years, yet at 51 years of age, James decided to continue his education and attended Liberty University until his illness. James liked to golf with friends, but he truly loved spending time with his son Jimmy. James enjoyed attending his son’s extracurricular activities, always supporting Jimmy in whatever way he could. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, Randle and Pearl Elms and his sister, Martha Elms Haney. 

He is survived by his wife of 27 and a half years, Helen Elms; his son, Jimmy Elms, and daughter-in-law, Samantha Elms. He is also survived by his siblings, Mae Shelley, Mary Halady, and R. David Elms, Jr.
