Kittie Whitford Lockey, 62, of Iowa Park, Texas passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Wichita Falls, Texas. 

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 in Fort Sill National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 1 from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. 

Kittie was born September 8, 1958 in New Bern, NC to Guy Hardy and Erma “Billie” Lee Whitford-Price. She married Franklin Lockey Jr. on December 21, 1985 in Bridgeton, NC. Frank and Kittie have shown the world how to love and care and provided a legacy for all to follow in their marriage, care, and parenting of their family. She was a member of the Heritage Church in Wichita Falls, TX and an active member in the grief ministry as well as the Women of God Bible Study. 

 

Her proudest career accomplishments were graduating from New Bern High School in 1978 and retiring from WFISD food service in 2014. Kittie enjoyed reading having lunch or coffee with friends and watching her kids and grandkids play sports. Her fondest childhood memories was her mother rolling the girls' hair in rollers on Easter Sunday mornings and receiving new pretty dresses to attend church. Kittie's favorite family outing was going with her family on a picnic to the beach. She also loved receiving a box of fresh collards from her dad on Thanksgiving. 

 

Kittie will be remembered for the love and kindness she showed to her children and extended family throughout Iowa Park, TX. She was part of the WFISD, Iowa Park, and City View school systems. She was known for hosting bible study and wonderful meals for all children of those school systems. Kittie was famous for cooking many many Western Burgers for family, kids and friends. She also supported all athletics throughout her sons' high school careers. Kittie was known by all the kids as "Granny" and her loud whistles, and hollering "THAT'S MY BABY" at all sporting events. 

 

Kittie's favorite time of the year was Christmas and celebrating her love for Christ. She showered neighbors, friends, and mostly family though cards and many many presents during this time of the year. She enjoyed shopping and giving her love though the love of Christ. 

 

Survivors include her husband, Frank Lockey Jr.; her children, Frankie Lockey, III, Lonnie Simmons, Jr, and wife Kathlene, Toyna Paldino and husband Sam, and Christopher Simmons and wife Clara; grandchildren, Jordan Paldino, Peyton Paldino, Avery Simmons, Katherine Simmons, Cy Simmons, and Cal Simmons; siblings, Mary Frazier, Guy Whitford, and Carol Schwalk, and many more nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

 

Preceded in death by her parents and brother William Whitford.
