Lonnie Anthony Padron, 92, of Burkburnett, passed away Thursday, March 3.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Burkburnett Church of Christ. Interment followed at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.

Lonnie was born on Sept. 30, 1929, in Tampa, Fl., to the late Pedro Padron and Marie Perez Padron. He graduated from Central Commercial High School in New York, NY and went on to complete the Cambridge School of Radio Broadcasting New York, NY in 1953 and graduated in 1956 from RCA Institutes School of Television and Electronic Technology specializing in Radio and Television Broadcasting. He retired with over 30 years at KWFT Radio in 1994. He also worked for Owens and Brumley Funeral home in Burkburnett for 16 years. He served in the United States Army having served in the 7th Infantry Division and fought on Pork Chop Hill.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony “Tony” Ray Padron; his brother, Pete Padron; and sister Edna Biele.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Padron of Burkburnett; and his children, three sons, Michael Guthrie of Randlett, Shannon Guthrie of Iowa Park, and Mickey Padron of El Puerto De Santa Maria, Spain; three daughters, Linda Berry, Lisa Padron, and Allison Alfaro, all of Burkburnett; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
