Lyndell “Lynn” Vaden, 86, of Wichita Falls passed away on Saturday, June 25, at United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls.

Visitation will be held at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home, 1317 Ninth Street, in Wichita Falls on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2 p.m.

An interment with Military Funeral Honors will be held on July 11 at 1 p.m., Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.

Lyndell was born on May 1, 1936, to the late Lee Sr. and Bertha (Harrison) Vaden in Corley, Texas. After high school, he joined the military and served in three branches of the military - United States Marine Corp, the Air Force, and the Army. In 1966 he married Vernetha Felder. After retiring from his military career, the family settled in Wichita Falls. He worked 20 years as a supervisor at Cryovac in Iowa Park.

Lyndell was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Andre Norbert Vaden; three brothers: William Odell Vaden, Lee Land Vaden Jr., Mayso Vaden and four sisters; Sally Vaden Smith, Christine Vaden Moore, Wilma Vaden Triggs, Bertha Vaden Henderson, and three half siblings; Lenora Vaden-Dial, Floyd Lee Vaden and William “Tip” Lewis.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Vernetha Vaden; son, Karl Vaden; daughter, Deirdre Vaden; and seven grandchildren.
