Mary “Mozelle” Sullivan, 85, passed away on June 8th, 2022 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Mozelle was born to Clarence and V.D. Tucker on December 14, 1936 in Olney, Texas. Mozelle was a graduate of Olney High School, where she excelled in the classroom and on the basketball court. After graduating from Midwestern State University, Mozelle began a 37- year

long career with the Iowa Park ISD teaching 6th grade English and spelling. Her teaching style combined a no-nonsense sensibility with an underlying care for long-term learning that students remembered long past her classroom. She loved running into her former students and hearing about their lives. She took great pride in teaching and also worked hard to develop the after-school program in the Iowa Park ISD.

Even after retiring, Mozelle’s love of teaching drew her back to the classroom as a substitute teacher. When not teaching, Mozelle enjoyed bowling on Monday nights at Village Bowl, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will always remember her home at Christmas for her attention to food, her Santa spirit, and “Mimi” fun and games.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Donald (Bud) Tucker and Bob Tucker, and her sister Dorothy Swanzy.

She is survived by her sister Peggy Anderson of Athens, Texas; her two sons, Hollis Sullivan and wife Donna of Fort Worth, Texas; and Bill Sullivan and wife Denise of Wichita Falls, Texas; her daughter, Connie Gatewood of Arlington, Texas; as well as seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank House of Hope and Hospice of Wichita Falls for their support and care.

Mozelle Sullivan will be remembered in a private graveside memorial service at the Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Iowa Park

First United Methodist Church/Food Pantry 201 E. Bank St., Iowa Park, Texas 76367, Hospice of Wichita Falls 4909 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310 or House of Hope 5100 Stone Lake Dr., Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
